NBA 2K19: 9 Best Teams You Should Play First

6. Houston Rockets

This year's gameplay changes necessitate a more methodical and strategic playstyle, particularly at higher difficulty levels. Exploiting the same old handful of tried and tested moves, regardless of who you're playing as, isn't as effective as in previous versions. 2K19 success is best achieved by adopting a floor general's mentality, so what better way to do that than putting yourself in yourself in Chris Paul's shoes?

The 90-rated point guard remains one of the game's foremost string-pullers, and James Harden is still James Harden. Relentless slashing isn't the borderline game-breaker it was in 2K18, but The Beard remains 2K's iso king, and him and Paul make for the game's most frightening backcourt. Star centre Clint Capela stuck around in the summer too, and if you can get more from Carmelo Anthony than the Oklahoma City Thunder did in real life, the deteriorating gunner may prove a useful role player.

Trevor Ariza's departure makes things tougher on the defensive end, but with 2K19 making notable improvements when it comes to timing steals and blocks, his absence doesn't diminish the Rockets' appeal too much.
