NBA 2K20: 10 Things We Already Know

7. The Release Date

NBA 2K20
2K Games

NBA 2K19 released on 11 September 2019, 2K18 on 19 September 2017 and 2K17 on 20 September 2016. That means 2K20 marks the earliest release for one of 2K's basketballs games in recent memory. It drops on 6 September 2019 worldwide.

There's no difference between the standard, Deluxe or Legend Editions either. They all land on the same date in stores physically and online digitally for download.

This is actually the earliest ever one of 2K's NBA games has been released. Looking right back to the beginning of the series shows that NBA 2K on Dreamcast launched on 10 November 1999. After that, games have been released ether in September or October; the gap between 2K19 and 2K20 is one of the shortest ones in franchise history.

That might worry some, because it means 2K have had less time than ever to smooth things out and whip the package into shape. As mentioned in the intro though, 2K19's gameplay only needed a few minor tweaks to make it even better. More on that later.
