NBA 2K20: 10 Things We Already Know

6. It'll Be On Google Stadia

Google's new game streaming platform has been called the 'Netflix of gaming', but only time will tell if it's going to be a success or a half-hearted experiment like PlayStation Now. 2K are willing to try it on. Reports are in that NBA 2K20 will launch on the service later this year.

Don't rely on Google's model in time for 2K20's release though, because Stadia isn't expected until November at the earliest.

2K20 will launch on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Google's platform (when it's good and ready). Offering up the newest entry to one of most popular sports franchises in gaming is a big step for this kind of platform, and it's considered a coup for Stadia. Again, it's worth repeating Stadia won't be available on 2K20's 6 September launch, at least not via Google.

To temper the Netflix remark a little, Stadia works a bit differently. Instead of paying for access to a library of content, gamers will have to purchase individual titles and then stream them on the service. It's probably advisable that series fans get their fix elsewhere.
