NBA 2K20: 10 Things We Already Know
5. WNBA Integration
For the first time in 2K series history, women's basketball will be playable in 2K20.
The WNBA is set to be part of the game and was featured in 2K's 'Welcome To The Next' trailer for the upcoming release. Right now, it's unclear just how much influence the women's game will have on things. There's a chance it could be a one-off exhibition mode that lets gamers pick from a limited number of teams (recent champs Seattle Storm are a must).
This was EA's approach in FIFA, and there hasn't been much development in the women's game there since it was first introduced in FIFA 16. The same will likely be true for the WNBA. If anything, this is a token gesture of inclusion rather than a full-blown game changing feature.
As limited as this will probably be, it is still a new platform for female ball. Any chance for young girls to play as their gender in-game must be seen as a good thing, and this should help the WNBA. Crowds aren't huge, fluctuating between 2-9,000 in the 2018 season, and the league could do with some spotlight.
