NBA 2K20 Demo: 10 Reactions You Need To Know
2. It Hardly Sells The Game's Excitement
2K's NBA series is all about experimentation. It relies on sampling as many teams as possible to see which star players suit your playing style. That's part of the fun, and it's sorely lacking in the demo. Forcing everyone to play on the same Raptors team (one that's not a patch on the 2019 championship winning side due to numbskull AI teammates), doesn't cut it.
Nobody's suggesting that 2K needed to open up every roster in the game, but they should've included the option to play a full 5v5 half at least. Right now, in its current state, the demo does a woeful job of selling the excitement of 2K's long-running franchise.
Your MyPlayer tends to lag behind others regardless of which build is chosen, and the lack of punchy thrills to be found when trying to pull off skill moves or flashy dunks is frightening. This is a skeletal frame of a demo, one 2K should've expanded before throwing it out there for download.
