NBA 2K21: 10 Things We Already Know
5. New Dunks Have Been Mo-Capped
As well as the dunk animation package included within Zion Williamson's pre-order digital collection, it has been confirmed that a number of new dunks have been motion captured for NBA 2K21.
A YouTube channel by the name of GamingWithOva has uploaded a video showcasing these new animations courtesy of NBA 2K's TikTok page, showing a number of new ways to smash the ball through the basket. It's worth noting that the amount of new animations on offer looks promising, with seven individual dunks shown.
Dunking the ball is one of the most joyous experiences when playing basketball, both in real life and in video games. The sheer excitement when you charge towards the hoop, dribbling the ball while evading the opposition, is second to none. You can argue that making a basket from shooting halfway across the court is equally as enjoyable, but it simply doesn't provide the same feeling of a dunk.
Once mastered, we could be seeing many players virtually joining the likes of Dwight Howard and Shaquille O'Neal in racking up the two points on offer from a slam dunk.
