At the time of writing, the NBA Playoffs have just finished up on the real-life court, something the Detroit Pistons don't know too much about. Their appearance in last year's Playoffs was their first in eight years, and even then, it saw them unceremoniously losing four games in a row to the Milwaukee Bucks, setting a new NBA record for the most consecutive Playoff losses at fourteen.
Even the 2018 appointment of new head coach Dwayne Casey hasn't done much to lift the Pistons out of this slump, with their most recent season seeing the Michigan team to a 20-46 overall result, leaving them understandably without a place in this year's Playoffs. Their most recent major acquisition came just under three years ago when they secured a deal with Blake Griffin in January 2018, along with Willie Reed and Brice Johnson.
Aside from these deals, the Pistons have done nothing of note that's worth talking about. Having them at only two points lower than their NBA 2K20 rating seems a tad generous.
