Undoubtedly the most recognisable NBA team ever, the Los Angeles Lakers no doubt would have ranked number one had the game be released after their victory over the Miami Heat to mark their seventeenth NBA championship.
There's not even much point in going through all of the huge names who have come through the Lakers' ranks over the years, as it's a real who's who of basketball legends. Currently, the team are dominated by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Dwight Howard, and Kyle Kuzma are all doing great things for the squad.
Rather surprisingly, the Lakers' recent win was actually the first time they had even qualified for the playoffs since the 2012/13 season, and even then they were defeated in the first round by the San Antonio Spurs. For the Los Angeles team, though, it simply doesn't matter - they're always going to be the one basketball team that everyone recognises, regardless of if they're an NBA fan or not.
It would be quite the surprise to see the Lakers anywhere other than the top position in terms of overall rating when it comes to NBA 2K22.
