In terms of sheer overall rating alone, the Memphis Grizzlies remain at the same rating, but on the real court, they've rapidly declined in recent times. Last year's season saw them miss the playoffs for the first time in a decade, and also reached their worst loss in franchise history, being defeated by the Charlotte Hornets 140-79. Ouch.
The singing of Ja Morant in the 2019 draft gave a much-needed glimpse of hope to the Grizzlies, with the 21-year-old point guard being deemed the 2020 NBA Rookie of the Year after being the second overall pick of the draft. The South Canative also has the lead in terms of overall points scored by rookies, holding a total of 1,138 points - quite impressive for such a young talent.
Having failed to make the playoffs since the 2016/17 season, however, it's no real surprise to see how low down the Grizzlies are ranked in NBA 2K21. By the time the next season begins, though, don't be shocked to see them ranked higher if Morant continues his run of excellence.
