NBA 2K22: 10 Things We Already Know
1. The Ninth Generation Gets Bonus Features
It was to be expected, of course, but NBA 2K22 will come with additional features for those playing on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The features report that's been referenced throughout the articles details much of this, with the most notable being the aforementioned refurbished City, though the last-gen consoles will feature a Neighbourhood built upon the decks of a spacious and luxurious cruise ship.
Elsewhere, MyCAREER appears to have more focus on next-gen consoles, with the addition of hidden talents. This sees MyPLAYERs pursuing non-basketball dreams on the side, one of which sees an avenue in which your player can take a different route through the industry by chasing a musical side-dream. Additionally, as you progress through your career, your home base in the City will also improve.
MyNBA/MyWNBA will also be drastically improved for next-gen consoles, though news on this won't be shared until the week beginning 6 September (the same as news on MyCAREER). Leaving such news until the week of the game's release is a bit concerning, but it comes as positive news regardless.
Finally, the Seasons feature, which was introduced in NBA 2K21, has been improved tremendously for 2K22, and will be free for all players in next-gen MyTEAM, MyCAREER, and the W Online. New content and rewards will be on offer just for playing through the game at no additional cost, with various updates coming during each Season.
