Keeping with tradition, NBA 2K24 will hit shelves on 8 September 2023.

A week-two September release - or the first Friday of the month - has been the targeted date for NBA 2K releases over the last few years, with NBA 2K23 releasing on 9 September 2022, NBA 2K22 on 10 September 2021, NBA 2K21 on 4 September 2020, and NBA 2K20 on 6 September 2019. With 2K24 confirmed to be released on 8 September, it continues the trend of a one-day difference across each year, the longest in recent memory being a six-day difference between NBA 2K21 and 2K22.

8 September will also be the release date across all consoles and editions. Unless it's revealed in August, when more information surrounding the game is expected to release, there will again be no demo or early access release.

NBA 2K20 was the last game to date which featured a demo. Released on 21 August, three weeks before its official 11 September launch, the demo gave players a jump in MyCAREER - sort of. The demo focused more on character creation than it did on-the-court action, with the only playable game being a repeat of the 2018/2019 NBA Finals between the Toronto Raptors and the Golden State Warriors.

The demo feature hasn't returned since, for the best.
