The Metroid franchise is Nintendo's Halo. We don't want to be overloaded with a new Metroid every year, not by a long shot, but a next-gen Metroid complete with shiny new graphics and an online community would make it a must-buy for every gamer. It would be an essential NX game if it were handled correctly. Nintendo's online capabilities are a large reason why they've fallen behind. They simply haven't adapted to the modern world. Bringing Metroid up to speed would provide an immediate, exclusive alternative to Halo or Destiny, making the most out of the game's huge potential.
