Nintendo NX: 9 New Rumours You Need To Know
1. Nintendo Are Funding A Beyond Good & Evil Sequel For The NX
Beyond Good & Evil is an action-adventure game that was released in 2003 on the GameCube (alongside various other platforms). Despite immense critical acclaim, the game was a commercial failure, and the trilogy of titles that was planned around the franchise never came to fruition.
Fast forward to 2016, and it's rumoured that the Big N is funding a sequel to the cult franchise for launch on the NX. What's the evidence? Well, Nintendo very recently did something remarkably similar with the Bayonetta series. Bayonetta was a critically successful, fan-loved title that didn't sell particularly well, and Nintendo funded a sequel for exclusive release on the Wii U, knowing it would win fan adoration. Beyond Good & Evil is exactly the same situation.
Not only that, but during a recent episode of the “Devs Play” series on YouTube, Michel Ancel, who worked on the first game and is currently working on the second, made repeated reference to Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto. Could this have a deeper meaning?
