Nintendo Switch: 10 Awesome Games With Overdue Sequels

The Xenoblade series is pretty darn niche, but that doesn't make it any less awesome to those who do enjoy it. Those people will also be the first to tell you that there's so much room for improvement, and with some tweaking this series could appeal to a much broader audience.

The series actually began way back in 1998 with Xenogears, a title that has gone on to achieve cult classic status. Since then there has been eleven games in the franchise, with Xenoblade Chronicles releasing in 2010 on the Wii U. The title received critical acclaim, with reviewers praising the open-world - something rarely seen in JRPG's - and its fun battle system.

The sequel came out in 2017 and wasn't quite as well received but did go on to become the developer's best-selling title. While not setting the world on fire, the series has done well enough to warrant another sequel.

Monolith Soft should know by now what works and what doesn't, thus resulting in a robust JRPG with a polished world and enjoyable gameplay. The Switch has a number of open world games at this point but few are built for the system, and that's what makes Xenoblade Chronicles 3 so appealing.
