Nintendo Switch: 10 Console Features It Desperately Needs
10. Virtual Console
Despite having a barren, messy Virtual Console at launch, at least the Wii U actually had one.
The Switch flubbed massively in this area. Launching without the Virtual Console was just Nintendo shooting themselves in the foot, being the feature has the potential to be a system-seller for many collectors and/or nostalgic Nintendo fans. Bizarrely, Nintendo rarely feel like they're maximising their highest capabilities and, in the case of the Switch, that's resulted in the Virtual Console just not releasing at all.
This iteration of the VC needs to include as many games and emulated consoles as possible. Being Nintendo are hopefully holding back for a reason, the extra development time could be being used to make sure the Virtual Console releases with a good variety of games under its belt. Still, it's shocking Nintendo would choose to launch without one of their most identifiable features at all.
The only reason that this entry is so low on the list is because it has been promised to make a return sometime in the year, though exactly when is currently unknown. With the great quality of the games released on the NES Classic, here's hoping that Nintendo have learnt their lesson.
