Nintendo Switch: 10 Harsh Truths Nobody Wants To Admit
2. The Battery Life Will Not Be Impressive
No matter what way you slice it, the Nintendo Switch's portable battery life is not going to be impressive. At best it will be serviceable, but even then, that's quite unlikely.
Fact is, the Nintendo Switch is desperately wrestling with both the portability of a handheld and the power of a home console. And since it's being marketed as a home console that plays Wii U games, the Switch will be at least as powerful as that system.
That's quite a lot of power to try and take on the go.
Then there's the fact that the Wii U game pad's battery barely lasts five hours. If that's how long a controller lasts merely streaming content to a screen, how long do you think an actual portable system will last?
Not only have a few prominent leakers confirmed the Switch's battery life to be unimpressive, but it's also rumoured Nintendo is planning on implementing a "quick save" feature into many of its games, so that progress isn't suddenly lost upon the battery running out. Uh oh.
