Nintendo Switch: 10 Improvements It STILL Needs

1. Joy-Con Drift

Don't you love hardware defects? Don't you love it when a product has had a defect since launch, and over three years later it still hasn't been fixed? Then the Joy-Con is for you!

Firstly: what is Drifting? Drifting induces the analog sticks on the controller to move and input commands randomly on the console, even though they are not physically moved. The two main causes for this phenomenon are a potential build-up of dust or debris underneath the analog stick, or worn down interior contacts due to repetitive use.

All controllers, not just Joy-Cons, can have this issue. But why is the Switch's so controversial? This is because the Joy-Cons have had this problem since day one and Nintendo has done little in the way of rectifying this crisis. They have continued to manufacture the Joy-Cons the same way since 2017 with no changes.

As of July 2019, they are offering free repairs for those with the drifting issue, but that still requires you to send the Joy-Cons into Nintendo. At the time of this writing, there are two on-going class actions lawsuits in place trying to hold Nintendo accountable for the drifting defect in the Joy-Cons.

When it comes to controller stick drift, it is unknown if the Switch Lite is as affected.
