Nintendo Switch: 10 Improvements It STILL Needs

2. Better Online Capabilities

The days of couch co-op may not quite be behind us, but we can all agree that online gaming is the now and future of playing together. So why has Nintendo mostly treated this leap like a third wheel? While Nintendo's single-player suite is undeniably strong, they seem to always come up short in the online department.

This mainly stems from the Nintendo Switch Online program, a paid service for the Switch. This gives players access to an aforementioned library of older games, as well as the ability to play online, use cloud saves, access a companion app, and receive exclusive offers and promotions. This is all typical when it comes to paid gaming subscriptions, but Nintendo used to be one of the only companies that offered free online play.

But the worst part about Nintendo's online capabilities is its lack of quality. The servers for their online games are unreliable to put it lightly; no game shows this more than playing online with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. If you want to talk online to friends, you need to do so through the external companion app on another device.

What are they thinking!?
