Nintendo Switch: 10 Improvements It STILL Needs

7. Nintendo EShop

It's safe to say the digital storefront is one of the biggest innovations in modern gaming. The ability to buy a game and play it within minutes, or to pre-order something and play it day-one without leaving the house, is simply phenomenal.

... So why does the Switch's eShop feel so dated?

Now, whilst the setup and menus can be laggy, at least the eShop is fully functional. No, the main thing Nintendo get wrong here is "adding funds".

When you purchase anything from Playstation or Xbox digital stores, you simply use your preferred method of payment and it's done. With the eShop, you must first purchase the funds, and then use those funds to purchase the actual content, creating a completely unnecessary step.

We are used to fast and quick forms of transactions; a simple payment for the product system. While this can be considered a minor gripe compared to other entries in this article, it is still worth mentioning that this method is simply out of date; Microsoft used a similar form of digital purchasing over a decade ago, but have since dropped it in recent years.

Nintendo needs to drop the "adding funds" and let us pay directly.
