Nintendo Switch: 10 Obvious Flaws That Need Fixing

2. Streetpass

The lack of any kind of app similar to Streetpass on the Switch is less of a glaring omission and more of a missed opportunity.

For those not in the know, Streetpass was a dumb but cute little gimmick featured on the 3DS. If you walked past someone who had a 3DS with Streetpass turned on, your 3DS would swap info with it and you got a brief yet often eye-opening glimpse into a stranger's life.

Finding people online to randomly friend isn't quite as simple on the Switch as it is on other consoles. The Friend Code system isn't very robust, and there isn't the same functionality in place that's on other consoles to let you track down people you've recently played with.

Something like Streetpass would have allowed players to pass random people on the street (without the pesky need to actually physically interact with them) and possibly find someone they could play something like Super Smash Bros Ultimate or Dragon Ball FighterZ with.

Of course, most of this would be pointless considering the Switch has, on average, one of the worst online connections and doesn't come with a LAN cable as standard, but let a man dream...
