Nintendo Switch Pro: 10 Improvements It Desperately Needs
6. More Power
The Nintendo Switch has carved its own little niche in the gaming market. Renowned as the industry’s mad scientists, the company often take risks and rely on an exceptional experience over graphics and power and long may that continue.
That being said, a next generation console does carry a certain expectation where graphical prowess and capability are concerned, even for Nintendo. With Sony and Microsoft closing on the release of even more powerful consoles, Nintendo may need to step it up a gear just to stay within a shout of having the more popular new releases brought to their next console.
That isn’t to say they should try to match their counterparts, that would arguably see an end to the Switch’s popular hybrid nature, but the technology should be their to allow them to keep within touching distance.
If they manage to achieve that next-gen equilibrium between experience and power, the Switch Pro/2 could see their fortunes skyrocket further. Imagine having the ability to play the latest, next-gen, AAA releases on the train.
If Nintendo can take it to the next level, the competition will lose more than just sleep.
