Nintendo Switch Pro: 10 Improvements It Desperately Needs
7. Larger Internal Storage
It’s now 2020 and Nintendo’s flagship console has an internal storage capacity that maxes-out at 32gb.
Yes, it’s a portable hybrid and so therefore its ability to carry enormous onboard memory, like its Xbox and Playstation counterparts, is hindered somewhat. However, in a world where phones and other portable smart devices come box-ready with an internal storage of above and beyond 128gb, size is no excuse.
Again, admittedly, a significant upgrade such as this will see the base price rise but what we’re talking about here is a Switch Pro/2. Pro devices across the market always command a higher price, such is their nature. Take Apple’s MacBook and iPad range, for example.
Besides, in the context of a next generation entry, Nintendo have a fair amount of wiggle room regarding price. Their console is a relatively cheap piece of kit and gamers will be willing to fork out that extra money if the hardware (and software) they’re going to get in return is substantially upgraded.
It’s a fine balance but if the Japanese giants put their minds to it, they could really tighten their grip on the market.
