Nintendo Wii U: 10 Reasons You Need To Get One
4. The 3rd Party Library Is Getting Stronger
Keeping with the trend of fixing the Wii's shortcomings, Nintendo promises much stronger 3rd party support beyond the Wii U's launch. The Wii U, like the PS3 and 360, is expecting Aliens: Colonial Marines come February, with more shared titles expected to show up the closer we get to E3.
And while the Wii U may not have an edition of Tomb Raider or Bioshock Infinite announced, many 3rd party developers are compensating with Wii U exclusive games. Ubisoft is releasing Rayman Legends next month, a sequel to the underrated 2D gem, Rayman Origins. Capcom plans to have Monster Hunter Ultimate out by March for Wii U and the 3DS, while Traveler's Tales is launching Lego City Undercover, a family-friendly GTA-styled game that looks like a lot of fun. During the recent Nintendo Direct, Mr. Iwata also showed a video from the new RPG that Monolith Soft is working on (which looks like a sequel to the fantastic Xenoblade Chronicles).
And finally, Platinum Games is working diligently on two of my most eagerly awaited titles: Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101. As I said earlier, more game should be revealed as we get closer to the Summer, but I can already tell that Nintendo is striving to build stronger 3rd party relations.
