Nioh: 6 Essential Tips & Tricks You Need To Know
1. The Kodama Provides Some Excellent Bonuses
The Kodama, traditionally Japanese guardian spirits that appeared in trees, might at first seem to be nothing more than comic relief in an increasingly bleak landscape, but they offer the player some welcome bonuses provided enough of them are found.
When visiting any of the shrines throughout the game, the player will always see a minimum of one Kodama on top of said shrine. However, if enough time is invested in order to find the various Kodama throughout each mission and guide them back to the various shrines, then the player can select from a variety of ‘Kodama Blessings’, abilities which enhance different aspects of the game.
All Kodama Blessings increase the drop rate or acquisition percentage of a certain item within Nioh. For example, if the Oracle Blessing is chosen by the player, the amount of Amrita acquired will increase by a percentage, whereas the Warrior Blessing will increase the armour drop rate by a particular percentage. Remember, only one blessing can be active at any time, so pick the option that best suits you.
Finding all the Kodama throughout Nioh won’t be an easy challenge, with some going to great lengths to stay out of sight of the player. The Kodama will always give off a green aura, and can usually be recognised from their strange hats protruding from the ground.
