No Man's Sky: 10 More Games That Should Be Investigated For False Advertising

1. Aliens: Colonial Marines

The Lie: Everything from the overall quality of graphics to gameplay, Xenomorph A.I. and general playability. The version of Aliens: Colonial Marines seen in trailers is nothing like what you can buy.

The Reality: At launch, fans and consumers were shocked to find that the retail version of Colonial Marines looked like it had sprang forth from a PS2 time bubble. Graphics were muddy as hell, the game had basic performance issues like clipping, frame rate and glitches, A.I. saw aliens get stuck in mid-air - basically, it felt like an early access game released a year into development.

The Aftermath: Thankfully, this was one time when a game was sued for false advertising, and SEGA were forced to cough up 1.25 million dollars. A payout like that would be catastrophic for Hello Games - and here's hoping that won't be the case - but the industry is in desperate need of a reality check, and Aliens: Colonial Marines at least proved that those responsible can be too to task eventually.
