No Man's Sky: 10 More Games That Should Be Investigated For False Advertising

9. Killzone 2

The Lie: Manufacturing a 'gameplay' trailer shown from the first-person, all for the sake of showing off the 'power of the PS3' one year before its release. Everything was given the appropriate weight and purpose to convince the masses, and at no point until many months later was anything clarified.

The Reality: Thanks to the above segment being pre-rendered and not actual gameplay, everything from the fire effects to general lick of paint across the game was drastically reduced. In retrospect, Sony came off the phenomenal success of the PS2 a bit too full of themselves; the price for the PS3 ($600) was received about as well as a bowel movement in a traffic jam, and although there was enough goodwill being thrown their way to make the console work if the games were good enough, this smoke n' mirrors stuff was simply absurd.
