No Man's Sky: 16 Things You Didn't Know You Could Do

Need more inventory space? Done.

No Man's Sky
Hello Games

It might be able to take you to the stars and back, but at time of writing, the main accolade No Man's Sky is aiming for is 'Most Divisive Video Game of All Time'. Opinions on Metacritic are mixed, thousands are complaining about 'missing features' that would be more at home in the upcoming Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, where the rest of us are content just looking at the ridiculous array of creatures on offer.

Regardless of where you fall on the subjective scale, what Hello Games have created is an absolutely outstanding achievement. A mix of hands-off interviews and alluring trailers - alongside algorithms that genuinely craft the universe around you as you go - means actually playing No Man's Sky feels like exploring the vast, isolating depths of space itself.

The game starts out with a broken ship in need of repair and a galaxy's worth of creatures and aliens to take in. You'll most likely know how to hunt, gather and craft already, but I'll bet you didn't know how to...

16. Do A Boost-Jump

No Mans Sky
Hello Games

First, a simple one. Hopefully, Hello Games won't file this as a bug and remove it, as boost-jumping is the fastest way to get around outside of your ship.

To do so, simply tap R1 while moving to perform a shoulder barge melee attack, and straight awayhit and hold X to initiate the jetpack. As your character is already propelled forward and the jetpack igniting also gives a small boost, you'll fly far faster and further than just jumping.

You'll see your character model shake to indicate that the game may not be totally cool with doing so, but you can't deny its effectiveness.
