Octopath Traveller: 14 Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
6. Help With Juggling Multiple Plot Threads
With eight different characters, motivations and sets of abilities, wants and needs, Octopath can very quickly become a tangled web of what to do next - especially if you hit a roadblock of progression in one particular story.
So, some things I've picked up:
1. You can swap out your active character quest at a Tavern, suffering nothing in the way of checkpoints. If you need to go and grind out a few levels or want to try someone else, talk to the barkeep if multiple characters are active in the same town, and select whoever you like.
2. Hit the minus button and head into the Journal to replay cutscenes and dialogue sequences - including a character's backstory if you opted out of it first time round.
Keep in mind that listening to character dialogue the first time actually gives you an additional Reputation point when exploring that given town.
So, if you're planning on stealing a lot with Therion or fighting as Olberic and H'aanit, up your rep and give yourself more chances to fail.
