Octopath Traveller: 14 Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
5. How To Unlock Secondary Classes (And Why You Need Them)
Another just-plain-strange feature of Octopath vs. every other JRPG ever is how a key part of progression is scattered across the open world.
Named "Job Shrines", they're basically how you take any of the characters' starting roles and apply them to anyone else.
Say Cyrus starts as a scholar, but you'd like to equip him with a set of Warrior abilities to boost his melee opportunities, you can. In this case Cyrus would get access to Olberic's menu options, being able to bust out twice as many moves as before.
To unlock these jobs as assignable traits, you need to find their corresponding "Job Shrine". Take a look at this map to see what you can get to, as the more the game progresses and you start needing a wider array of spells, trapping opportunities and melee combos, you'll need to collect the whole set.
Doubling roles means you can essentially travel as all eight characters in one too, becoming an Octopath Traveller... you might say.
