Jesse McCree is a prime example of a born again anti-hero. A former outlaw with a western motif, McCree saw a better use for his talents as a force for good, rather than one for ill-gotten gains. Due to his criminal background, however, joining Overwatch just wasn't a viable option.

Its underground contingent however? They were more than eager to recruit Jesse's talents.

Nowadays Jesse is a bit more withdrawn, and why shouldn't he be? As one of Blizzard's comics has shown, the gun slinging bounty hunter is very much a fugitive - one adored by the masses at that.

In game dialogue would also suggest that McCree and Reaper are at odds with one another, with the former balking at the suggestion that the latter taught him everything he knows. It's also apparent that Jesse isn't overly fond of the way Reyes tosses his shotguns around either, which I agree, wouldn't seem too environmentally friendly on the surface.

Here's hoping the two have a showdown in any follow-up storyline.
