Overwatch 2 Wishlist: 10 Things Fans Need To See

8. Active Story Events For The Community

Part of what was supposed to keep the original game from stagnating was the regular events: Winter Games, Lunar New Year, the Archives, etc. Well the PvE side of things will need events to keep things interesting as well, unless Blizzard plans to release new story missions every other month.

Simple ideas like a cosmetic challenge, as they've done a few times, where you would have to complete so many missions in a week's time to unlock a special skin can go a long way to make replaying the same 5 missions less of a drag.

But ideas on a larger-scale would go even further. A competitive horde mode event, perhaps on a weekly scale – similar to how competitive works in the PvP modes. The players who survive the most waves and get the most kills get a higher ranking and get competitive points at the end of the week, month, or season.

Simple things to keep the monotony of replaying the same handful of linear missions from getting obtrusive.
