Overwatch: Ranking All Events So Far
1. Retribution (Archives)
Retribution, the second Archives event after Uprising, is probably the event that stoked the flames of excitement for Overwatch and its story as a whole.
The mysteries behind Overwatch's fall come into clearer focus with this mission. It gives deeper insight into Gabriel Reyes, head of Blackwatch, one of Overwatch's founding members and most stalwart protectors before becoming Reaper, Talon operative and one of Overwatch's worst enemies. It also shows off a Genji that was much more violent and terrifying, and a McCree who questioned the harder decisions Gabriel Reyes was making.
Apart from the intriguing lore, the PVE game mode was different from the Halloween event before it, similar to the Uprising event but with all-new enemies and a new map. The dialogue gave fans more information on fan-favourites in a never-before-seen situation, and the skins for this mission are some of the best for each character.
It also came with a comic fans have been waiting years to see followup for, revealing a much more complex relationship between Reyes and Strike Commeander Morrison (Soldier 76) than originally implied.
It's everything fans are excited about for Overwatch 2, and will hopefully see more of in the near future.
