Pokémon GO: 11 Insane Player Stories You Won't Believe Actually Happened

2. Man's Home Becomes A Pokémon Gym

Pokémon Gyms and PokéStops are generally located at public locations, where players can gather without encroaching on anyone's private property. But when you live in a building that used to be a church but is now a residence, things can get a little weird in Pokémon GO land.

That's what happened with Boon Sheridan, who woke up one morning in his refurbished-church-flat to find a couple of cars and people hanging around outside. It turned out Pokémon GO had flagged his home as a Gym, and now people were coming from all over the area to do battle for it.

"Living in an old church means many things," tweeted Sheridan. "Today it means my house is a Pokémon GO gym. This should be fascinating." Sheridan, who plays the game himself, took it in good spirits, and even met the incumbent 'Leader' of the gym hanging around outside (picture up there on the right).

A strange world we live in, when one person can own a space in reality, but another in Pokémon's Augmented Reality. The future is now, people!
