Pokémon: 10 Reasons Diamond, Pearl & Platinum Are Under-Appreciated

7. The Pokedex

POKEMON Games
Nintendo

Diamond and Pearl added many staples to the Pokémon universe such as Garchomp, Lucario, Staraptor, and who could forget good ol' Bidoof! Yes, many other games gave us unique Pokémon. Diamond and Pearl, however, gave use so many iconic Pokemon.

Garchomp is considered by many to be one of the strongest and fastest of all Dragon types. Add in the fact that it is part Ground gives it much better coverage and gives Earthquake an added boost.

As for Lucario, well honestly, if it were any better it would be considered a Legendary Pokémon. Lucario is a Steel/Fighting type which means that not only does it resist many moves, nowadays it can stand toe-to-toe with Fairy types, which not many powerful Pokémon can claim to do.

If you get a chance to, go back and look at how many Pokémon Diamond and Pearl gave us. The two were named because they were the easiest to discuss, and because there isn't enough time in the day to explain how good all of them are. If Diamond and Pearl's Pokedex was ever in any doubt, just wait until what Platinum added to it.
