7. Pokémon Trading Card Game

With any successful TCG, there's inevitably a ton of video games.

These games do two things. One, they teach new people how to play. Two, they give those who don't have friends who like the game the chance to actually play it.

Pokémon Trading Card Game does both of these things perfectly whilst still feeling like a Pokémon game.

It doesn't forget its origins being heavily based on the mainline gen one Pokémon games. You meet a weird professor names Dr. Mason who gives you the option of three decks to start with, one based on Squirtle, one on Charmander, and one on Bulbasaur (the correct choice).

You must explore Trading Card Game Island to beat the eight Club Masters who are basically the Gym Leaders, before you're allowed to challenge the Grand Masters who are basically the Elite Four. Also, it wouldn't be a real Pokémon game without a rival, you have a rival named Ronald which might be the worst rival name ever and now I want McDonald's.

So yeah, it feels like a real Pokémon game and with the actually really impressive art and variety of cards this is also a really good way to get into the TCG.

Has a degree in video game development. Is kinda addicted to video games, television, and films. Probably needs some help, to be honest.
