Pokémon: Every Gen 1 Game Ranked

Nowadays there is no reason to go back to Pokémon Stadium other than to play a few really good mini-games. From that perspective, it doesn't deserve to be this high on the list but when you remember the context of the games' release it's clear that the game is worthy of quite a bit of respect.

It's easy to forget what the actual fights in the mainline generation one Pokémon games looked like but let's just say they left a lot to be desired. As kids you'd imagine an awesome fight taking place as you use your entire team to attempt to take out the Elite Four; then you'd watch the anime and see fully-fledged battles and start to desire something more than the Game Boy could offer.

That's where Pokémon Stadium came in, the game allowed kids to actually fight with their Pokémon, no imagination needed.

And since you could fight with any of the 151 gen one Pokémon you'd be able to use your favourite, something that the original Pocket Monsters Stadium sorely lacked.

It offered kids something they couldn't get anywhere else at the time, and because of that, Pokémon Stadium deserves this spot on the list.
