4. The New Way Coins Build Up

Back in 2016, if you placed a pokemon on a gym, you'd immediately get a payout in the in-game store that continued to build if the pokemon held that spot.

Now things are different.

2018's Pokemon GO still gives you a gold coin payout, but it's 1 coin every 10 minutes, with a max cap of 50 coins every day (/24 hour window).

You can increase the speed of your take by appointing multiple Pokemon to multiple gyms, but you'll still only amass a collection of 50 in that 24 hour window.
