Pokémon: Ranking The Starters Of All 6 Generations From Worst To Best
7. Fennekin
Finally breaking the cycle of simply adding a secondary Fighting Type to the Fire starter as it evolves after three consecutive generations, Fennekin represents a great step in Pokémon progression. Fennekin goes on to benefit from an additional Psychic Type, one of few that get this in the series.
Its stat breakdown could be seen as single-minded, but there's also a strength in the great focus. When Fenneking eventually becomes Delphox it learns some immensely powerful attacks for the Fire and Psychic Types; if you're looking to fill your team with as many Type assaults as possible then training a Fennekin to Delphox is a solid addition these days.
Admittedly the dual typing isn't hugely revolutionary, and generation six does just serve to double the strength/weakness bonuses of its starters when pitted against each other.
