Pokémon Switch: 10 Ways To Make The Best Pokémon Game Ever

There's a limit to how far Game Freak should pursue this one. The main Pokémon games have, and always should be, to a certain extent, turn-based, as to accentuate its strategic origins, but that doesn't mean there's no room for a few formula changes.

Mega Evolutions and Z-Moves were a tremendous start in offering Trainers more opportunities for decision-making in the heat of battle, but it's clear that even their inclusion pushed the 3DS to its absolute limits. It's tough to gloss over chugging frame rates.

By all means, bring those features over to the Switch, but include them with other mutators to freshen up the experience.

How about requiring Trainers meet certain prerequisites before they can catch specific 'Mons, rather than the tried but tired method of hurling stocks of Poke Balls at their feet? Likewise, introducing non-scripted events, such as mid-battle evolutions or environmental hazards would work wonders in discouraging a constant mashing of the A button.

The possibilities aren't endless, but they're sure as hell more numerative, now that Switch is the one powering the series. Do what you think's best, Game Freak. You've not let us down thus far.
