Pokémon Switch Wishlist: 7 Features Fans Demand
2. Releasing Pokemon For A Reason
If you’re a collector, you might try to catch ‘em all but mostly you build a good six, maybe seven for type coverage, and leave the rest in the PC. In an RPG though, the whole of your Pokédex should play a part in your story.
The core games have tried to do this to an extent, letting you trade some less valuable Pokémon for rare ones over the years, such as Jynx or that bloody Everstone-holding Haunter.
But as with a lot of things in this list, in an RPG we want even more. You meet so many pathetic trainers on your travels, like Youngsters with only Rattata or Bug Catchers with Caterpies and Wurmples (they never seem to catch Scythers for some reason). It’s alright for us, being given Cyndaquils, Froakies or Treekos at the beginning of our journey. But we’re the 1% of the Pokémon world, riding million-pokedollar bikes and mocking those beneath us. Maybe it’s time we gave something back.
Not our starters, God no! Not Bulby! But maybe that Abra or Ralts. Think of all the good we could do if instead of releasing them randomly, we could gift our valuable Pokémon to the less fortunate.
