Pokémon Sword & Shield: 10 Galarian Forms We Need To See
7. Spoink
There’s already a classic farm animal in the game with Wooloo as the cuddly Welsh sheep, so Game Freak may well lean into that theme a little more and give pig Pokémon Spoink a Galarian twist.
The Pokémon is somewhat popular without ever having too much of a fuss made about it, and Galarian Zigzagoon proves Game Freak aren’t just giving Generation I the Galar twist this time around. In many ways then, Spoink appears an ideal candidate.
The fact that Marowak, Rattata and indeed Weezing received Regional Variants proves Game Freak and Nintendo are looking at how to improve their lesser lights. Right now, Spoink’s only real claim to fame is its infamous Dex entry, but this could be key to a potential redesign.
Spoink’s entry states that the spring of its tail pumps its heart, and that if it ever stops bouncing, it will die. Considering it can faint in the game and survive, this entry has never made much sense.
Giving it more of a Grass woodland creature vibe with a wooden tail or a cave dwelling Rock ‘mon with a granite tail could both work with the Psychic typing it already has.
