Pokémon Sword & Shield: 10 New Styles That MUST Be In Gen 8
9. Bug Eeveelution
Dark type Pokémon are pretty common amongst the main villains of any given region, and while Galar’s baddies are yet to be revealed, there’s already some speculation that Dark types could play an even bigger role and finally get a gym. With that mind, stocking up on a strong Bug type couldn’t hurt.
Bug is also strong against Grass and Psychic, so it’s not a bad one to have in your team. Heracross, Mega Beedrill and Volcarona are all decent, but there’s a helluva lot of low cards in the deck too. A Bug Eevee would not only be a nice change for the little ‘mon who typically only joins strong types, it would be a great addition to a team in need of a leg up.
When it comes to picking your party, the nostalgia, aesthetic, and any given trainer’s favourites comes into it as much as stats and typing. However, with the exception of Sylveon, the Eeveelutions are very much also rans when it comes to their respective type pools. Bug Eevee could redress the balance.
Bug typing has one of the most diverse design styles as well, with the potential to take Eevee in pretty much whatever direction they want.
