Pokémon Sword & Shield: 10 Predictions Based On Galar’s Map
3. Boat To Kalos
As well as the idea of taking a train to Kalos, there’s also a boat on the east coast (where France and therefore Kalos might be) which could take us. It looks to be just a small fishing vessel and might just be for aesthetics, but it would be strange to feature it in the overhead map if it has no importance.
Rather than rehash why Kalos might make sense, it’s probably a better use of this entry to think about what a link to Kalos could mean.
For one, Kalos was the debut of Mega Pokémon, arguably the most popular tweak to mechanics or evolution that the game has ever made. By allowing (often lesser used or weaker) Pokémon to transform into stronger versions of themselves, a lot of creatures got a new lease of life.
Though it would be nice to see some regional ‘mons again, new Megas are at the top of most fans' wishlists.
Also, opening up access to Kalos means that any Pokémon caught post-game on the potential Ireland island could be used too.
Of course, said boat might just be the passage to the island and Kalos might not feature at all, but hey, we can dream.
