Pokémon Sword & Shield: 10 Predictions Based On Galar’s Map

4. Train To Kalos

Ever since Johto let us travel back to Kanto, Pokémon fans have wanted to explore previous regions with the new releases, but unfortunately, their prayers have gone unanswered. This time though, they may just get that wish.

As established, Galar is based on Britain, while Kalos is based on France. This means that geographically, the two regions are likely quite near each other. Kalos also had a war with an unknown region, which given the history of the lands they’re based on, is likely Galar too.

Another reason this could be the first time crossing into an old region again is linked to the Switch, and is two fold. As the first Pokémon main series game on Nintendo’s flagship console, Game Freak will want it to be bigger and better than ever; giving fans one of the most requested features would certainly fulfil that.

There’s also the fact that the Kalos games are one of only two (with Sinnoh) to not get remakes, something which may be rectified on the Switch.

Given the prominence of trains on both maps (and the real life Eurostar), a train across seems a sensible way to travel. There is at least one more possibility though...
