What a deeply weird yet somehow wonderful Pokémon Hatterene is. All three stages of this Pokémon have something going for them, in fact, but the final stage takes the victory.

Before anyone is tempted to call her ‘thicc’, you should know that most of what you can see is actually her hair, a la Bayonetta. It’s more apparent in her Gigantamax form, where she appears to be like Ripley controlling the mech suit in Aliens.

First stage Hattenna looks like if Kirby ate Peach, while middle stage Hattrem hops around on her hanging pigtails. All three are distinct yet related, and have incredibly sharp, well thought out designs.

The one thing you’d say is that the Psychic Fairy typing does it no favours in the long run. Yes, both do appear to fit it, but Hatterene is likely to appeal for the same reasons Gardevoir does; that is to say, some for rather creepy reasons and some because it has the same femme aesthetic.

Gardevoir is one of the most popular Pokémon around, so it remains to be seen whether Hatterene can get a foothold in Gardevoir’s spotlight, or whether she’ll be forgotten sooner rather than later.
