With the host of new Pokémon inhabiting the Alola region in Sun & Moon, it was always likely that a number of new, inherent abilities would follow closely behind as well. Now news of some if the new abilities set to grace our teams has arrived, and it appears that a few of them are stronger than ever.

Confirmed, notable additions to the game so far include 'Corrosion', which allows the Pokémon to inflict the Poison status on Poison or Steel type Pokémon, and 'Disguise', which allows the Pokémon to escape damage from an enemy's attack just once before the effect disappears and its appearance changes.

So far most of these have been introduced as abilities for Sun & Moon's new creatures, but it will be interesting to see which Pokémon from prior generations have their makeup changed to carry some of these new powers.

You can check out a more detailed list of the new options at Pokémon fan-site Serebii.net.
