8. InFamous: Second Son

Ever wanted to be a superhero? No? You liar. How about a supervillain? Fortunately, in either instance, InFamous: Second Son will allow you to fulfil your fantasy, giving you a number of supremely destructive abilities and letting you use them for good or evil.

Naturally, chaos will ensue, no matter which choice you make. Even if you do head down the path of righteousness, Second Son will give you plenty of opportunities to wreak havoc with your smoke, neon and concrete powers. You can explore the vast expanse of an extremely detailed Seattle, scaling buildings Assassins Creed-style and bringing the super-powered pain down on an endless army of cannon-fodder thugs.

Second Son does lose a couple of points in the story department, but you'll be having so much fun you probably won't even notice. This is a game about the tiny choices you make in the moment-to-moment gameplay - will you subdue your enemies or kill them? Will you slaughter innocent civilians, or let them live?

With great power comes great responsibility, and InFamous gives you the power to reinforce that mantra. Or not.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
