PS4: 10 Best Console Exclusives You Need To Play

5. Until Dawn

It's not often that a mainstream triple-A title manages to surprise us, but Until Dawn managed it. Prior to release, it came across as an overly cheesy, predictable teen-slasher flick - and it was! But in an endearing way. All those dumb decisions the ditzy protagonists made in films like Friday The 13th and Scream were now yours to control - and yours to mess up.

Because, as you'll learn, it's not as easy as you'd imagine. When there's a serial killer stalking you and your friends, how would you react? Would you run, hide, fight? Would you sacrifice your group to save your own skin? Until Dawn forced you to make fast, difficult decisions, and this heightened the tension to an almost unbearable degree.

The game came packing a surprisingly lengthy campaign too - it twisted and turned through many pivotal forks in the road, creating dozens of different outcomes that rewarded additional playthroughs. Will everyone live? Will everyone die? Who knows.

As long as you can live with the consequences of potentially getting innocent people killed, you'll find Until Dawn a satisfying - and very gruesome - experience.

In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too.
