PS4: 10 Biggest Mistakes Sony Have Made So Far
10. DualShock 4 Build & Battery Problems
Although the DualShock 4 is generally a fantastic controller, it does have a fair number of problems that haven't been ironed out even today.
One of the biggest is the durability of the controller itself - namely the thumbsticks. For whatever reason, the material that Sony decided to initially use for two of the most important parts of the controller is abysmally weak. Before they overhauled the design of the material some months after launch, you could expect to replace them fairly often. This problem seems to be one limited to the DualShock 4, as no other consoles have ever had the issue be this prevalent.
Another major problem with the DualShock 4 is battery life. As it stands, a fully charged DualShock 4 generally lasts up to a maximum of 8 hours, which is pretty poor when you consider that previous generations have had controllers lasting 20+ hours. This issue is another that seems to be exclusive to the DualShock 4, mostly due to the battery-draining front light (more on that later...).
