PS4: 10 Biggest Mistakes Sony Have Made So Far
6. PSVR Has Been Wasted
Although some might argue that PSVR deserves a different spotlight altogether, it technically functions as an addition to the PlayStation 4. Therefore, its wasted potential counts as one of PS4's biggest mistakes.
VR has the potential to be one of the biggest and most exciting developments in gaming in years, and in Sony's defence, the first few months after the PSVR's launch seemed bright. The technology itself was fantastic yet affordable and the possibilities introduced by it were incredibly exciting. Even some of the initial games were pretty cool, with titles like Until Dawn: Rush of Blood and Psychonauts: In the Rhombus of Ruin making good use of the peripherals.
And yet, where has the PSVR gone now?
Less than one year after releasing, there doesn't seem to be any noteworthy games in development for the system, and none of them appear to be making use of the tech to its full potential. Making enjoyable and unique experiences is a pretty big problem for VR in general, but it seems like Sony have stopped attempting altogether.
The way that PSVR is going right now, it looks like it'll end up being the next PlayStation Vita - a powerful piece of technology with nothing to do.
